This painting is based on one of the India’s old traditional art form called ‘Patta chittra’ which is more than 1200 years old. One can found this art form abundantly in the world famous JAGANNATH TEMPLE of Puri, India. This style is very decorative and painstaking art form which is drawn on natural brush made out of squirrel hairs and the surface is created with gum of tamarind seed powders and applied on the cloth to make it more deterrent in all whether and hold the colors firmly. The subject mostly taken from mythology and the characters are always gods and goddesses.
